Engaing diverse ages, cultures & economic backgrounds through educational, inter-cultural outreach programs.

The Marietta Center for the Arts (MCA)  and Susquehanna Stage offers year round art-focused education classes for kids and adults of all ages. These classes give students the tools to learn and expand their knowledge of the arts and allows them the freedom to expresses themselves in a fun, emotionally and physically safe environment. Students will focus not only on material developed for the stage, but also from the worlds of music, dance, material art, literature, and history.

Our goal is not only to nurture an appreciation for live theatre, but also to help students develop on a personal level by focusing on communication, teamwork, self-discipline, positive self-image and confidence, responsibility and respect, awareness of the senses, use of imagination and creativity, as well as the exploration and control of emotions. We emphasize the process of creating art and encourage students to share what they have learned in all aspects of their lives.

Mastering the Monologue

Mastering the Monologue

One of the most intimidating aspects of any audition is the dreaded monologue. How do I choose one? What are the people behind the table looking for? How do I overcome my nerves? With stages dark, performers (of all experience levels) must take it upon themselves to stay sharp for when theater doors swing open and auditions begin again. In “Mastering the Monologue”, local director and actor Kevin Ditzler will guide you through what you need to know to make an impact at your next general audition.
